If you’re reading this, it’s likely because you’re not swimming as fast or as effortlessly as you’d like.
You’ve likely tried many different approaches with varying degrees of success, yet still feel like you’re missing something.
It shouldn’t be this hard for so little return.
My suspicion is that the reason you’ve felt like you’ve been floundering around attempting to improve your swimming is because you’ve been trying to solve the wrong problem.
If you’re trying to solve the wrong problem, or you’ve incorrectly identified the wrong problem, it doesn’t matter how hard you work or how much time you spend, you will never get the result you want.
The harder you try, the further away from your goals you seem to get.
It’s just wasted time and energy.
My goal is to help you change that.
We’re going to explore the underlying reason the vast majority of swimmer fail to accomplish their goals, particularly those without an extensive swimming background.
That reason is probably not what you expect.
It’s actually surprisingly simple, and you’ll instantly see why addressing that issue is the foundation for effective swimming.
The problem is that while it may be intuitive, no one actually spends any time working to address the issue.
However, with a better understanding of what it is limiting performance, and why it matters, we can look at the exercises that will help you learn to solve the problem.
While it may be a simple problem, perhaps simpler than you’d expect, the solution is not necessarily an easy one.
It will take work and it will take practice, particularly as you’ve probably never directly worked on these skills before.
An accurate understanding of the problem and the solution is necessary if you want to make progress.
However, it’s not sufficient.
You have to act, and unfortunately, knowing what to do is not the same as knowing how to do it. All the knowledge in the world is useless if no action results.
Whenever you’re provided with new information, particularly when information that conflicts with how you used to see the world, it’s tough to know what to do next.
Knowing this, I’m going to lay out all the steps you can take to put this information to work so that you can actually accomplish your goals.
I’ll show what you need to do, and how to do it.
As you move through this book, you’ll learn what is likely the REAL problem preventing you from better swimming, you’ll learn what you can do to learn the skills necessary to overcome this problem, and most importantly, you’ll learn how to put it into action.
Faster, easier, and better swimming is in your future.
