You need to learn to pull straight back
You need to learn to breathe effectively
You need to time your rotation so you can accomplish all of the above
The pull can get complicated.
Keep it simple.
Pull straight back.
Get the hand deeper than the elbow, and the elbow wider than the hand.
Then pull straight back.
